Hey guys i think im gonna buy one of those sound recording kits from ratchack. my question is do these loop the recorded sound? and can you play to what you have recorded. Any info would be nice.

Thanks,
Jason

you need external circuitry to make it loop other wise you wil have to keep hitting the repeat button. however that being said they do work quitenicely and on my old site there was a schematic for adding foot switches to it.

Dynamic range is not great, and there is some background noise, and freq range is not like hifi, but they work quite nice, if you like "digital lofi" type sound. I have one constructed from some electronics shop kit, uses cheap 15 sec ISD chip. I have not done any modifications, input is just an electret mic and output is connected to a small speaker, I just have used small power amp on chip. Quess you could modify it so you have line in and out sockets.

I tried to look for info about controlling the chip and found some info, but it was too big project for me

I have thought one might go the easy way and a loop could be triggered just with a pulsed relay. Maybe a monostable triggered by kick drum sample...
