Hey folks,

What is the purpose of the 2M2 resistor in Tonepad's fuzz face layout (R1, which goes from the input to ground)?

I'm wondering if I can leave it out for now until I pick up a 2M2 resistor.

Thanks.

cd

It prevents popping when you switch in the effect in/out.  Leave it out for now.

Samuel

its a pulldown resistor - helps to prevent the circuit from a producing a popping sound when bypassed or engaged. You can leave it out for the time being, but it's a good thing to have eventually.

cd and Samuel,

Thanks! I thought that was what it might be, but I didn't see one on the output side (I think I read in the FAQ to put a resistor from output to ground as well).
