aron,
why not compile all these letters and put them on
one page, maybe in the beginners' section(?), but
*labeled*/accessable!  so that new users of this forum
could acesss it right away, and in their course of reading.
AND, have the list *stay* in one place(and locked) so that
Aron can edit it ocassionally to add to it????
Some of the acronyms confuxe me 2.
IMHO AFN, SEYE-O-NAR-RA

This thread brings to mind something I've been thinking about. "Tranny" is short for transistor, "Caps" is short for capacitor, "Chip" is short for integrated circuit, "Pot" is short for potentiometer, but what about a short term for resistor? We don't have one do we? Suggestions?

How about -/\/\/\- ?

Peter Snowberg

When we reach the "end" of this thread, I'll compile everything into a single message and add it to the FAQ. :D

AP - all pass

MTV - I'll pass.  :P

elko (Elektrolyt Kondensator) = electrolytic capacitor...
ask me: "elco" should be the Engl. abbrev.

btw.: what does "MOJO" stand for?

Those dashes are ASCII 169. (hold down alt, type 169 on keypad, release alt.)

I'd also like to add (in light of recent threads)

Paul Marossy

Beat you to it on the ASCII resistor niftydog.
I did mine the hard way, though...

niftydog

while we're talking ASCII, I suppose it'd be clever to plug this software. ASCII schematics are now as easy as pie!

EX [example]  'tag' a pot where Q2's C Resistor would go.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Quote from: Mark Hammerhaving chatted with the man for the better part of an hour, I think there is just a little too much hubris there to tolerate duplication.

It ain't hubris if you can back it up, but I agree there can be only one!
