Anyone here ever use NKT275s for their FuzzFace clone?

I just ordered a matched pair of NOS NKT275 transistors from somebody on ebay.  I've never used these before, I know they aren't quite as fuzzy as other types but I've heard great things about them.

Anybody here familiar with NKT275s?  Are they as good as they say or is it a little bit of hype?

The same question goes for OC44s.  I ordered a pair of NOS Mullard OC44s for my Rangemaster clones, the price wasn't as steep as I expected.

it has more to dso with the values than it does the part number.  you have to test them for leakage, gain, etc.

If you let me  'interview' a # of 'individuals', I can find if there are some 'cool' ones that work like magic or just work...
Takes a while, turning the knobs and trimpots, and a 'good' [I prefer tube] amp, and the 'right' pickups, and some various value caps to tune a FF...or a PGDab of luck.
IMHO FF opinion, a good FF should be designed to be messed with...at least a  little bit. What's outside a FF when a FF is used could have a huge impact on FF reviews/results.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

They are all usefull if they "are" or "can be" biased correctly.
You should buy a bunch of trimpots (1k, 4k7 or 5k, 10k, 47k or 50k).

i was gonna buy some nkt275 off ebay too, but instead i got 10 ac176 NPN germs to do a hybrid FF or AXIS.  let me know how they sound after you get it up and running k?

Hello Hello-
I use a pair of 'em in my FF clone and they sound VERY good.  What everybody said about leakage [and noise in the circuit..] is true.  Sometimes even after getting them biased correctly they might be  too noisey [hiss, etc.].

Hello Hello-
I forgot to mention that my Rangemaster clone has a OC 44 in it and it sounds very good, too.  I sort of used  the FF and RM clones to judge the sound of all my other fuzzes and boosters.
