Bobtavia - Simple Octave Up (Same thing?)

Are these both the same pedal? I have built the Bobtavia and I really like it when driven by a FF. I have a few Germanium Diodes that I want to use so I'm thinking of building the Gus Smalley "Simple Octave Up". My question is are these both pretty much the same thing? The schematics are at GGG under EZ Build. Thanks for any help.
