I built up the Bazz Fuss v2 on my breadboard and its output seems low, so I put a little boost section after it. However, the output still seems to be lacking bass, I need to crank up my EQ on my amp. Could there be an issue with my capacitor choices?

Try increasing the 0.1 µ cap to 0.22µ or even 1µ.

Hope it helps.

Output should be quite strong from the Bazz Fuss.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

that's what I thought too, pete, which is why I'm confused, does the 2n5088 suffice or should I try a higher gain 2n5089?

B Tremblay

There won't be too much (audible) difference between 2N5088 and 2N5089 when used in a Darlington arrangement within the BFv2.

How low is the output?

When using a 100k-A volume pot as shown in the schematic, at what point of rotation does unity with the bypassed signal occur?

I don't have a 100k Audio pot handy (i tried it with a linear), but I leave it out, because it doesn't even come close to bypassed at full volume

Some component must be connected incorrectly.  Double-check everything.

What is the level like if you tap the output between R2 and C2?

It would also be good to verify the 10x gain on the buffer stage.
