will it be more vintage sound if i replace those chips with 3094e ? how about carbon composition resistors also ? or actually they are just totally different circuits ? thanks in advanced

:o

1.)no;
2.)more noise; (or the same)
3.)no;

(only the LFO & the in/out circuit can vary a little from model to model through the decenniums)

Question - which OTA chips does the reissue use? I assume either LM13600 or LM13700...

found both new and vintage at ebay for $75 each, should i get the vintage one ? according this page http://www.sigur-ros.it/franz/RHG/Jonny/jonnyeffects.html, jonny is using the second issue one,and i love that tone so much in radiohead's record......... i'm just afraid the new one has totally different tones....... anyone actually has both ? thanks again for your comments

Thanks, Puretube.... so they're still cranking out the CA3094 units. There was a different version around 1980 that used two LM13600 and one LM324... the LM324 was used  for the input and output buffers as well as the LFO... LM324 has a reputation for bad crossover distortion in audio circuits, visible above a couple of KHz.

Don't worry about it, all your other equipment is different enough (not to mention studio trickery and live differences) that you won't be able to nail the exact sound anyway.  If you can't reconcile that fact in your own mind, buy the vintage one.
