Which type of electrolitic capacitor would you chose when building a top quality FuzzFace or Rangemaster clone?

Is there any difference between radial and axial electrolitics?

Mike Burgundy

electrically, none.
It's just a matter of how you use space. If a board needs to be really low-profile, layingl caps on their side is nice. If height doesn't matter much, I prefer the smallest footprint.

Radial are way cheaper, because much more commen in use.

Axial are no industry std., 'cos you need to bend the wires before a nailing machine could stick them into the board.

Hey,

If you really want to have that mojo tone, go axial. But beware as they tend
to add to the low end a bit... ;)
