To u guys whos into Toner Transfer method in PCB etching.

Do u know that it is 10X faster to remove toner from the PCB by spraying Carburetor Cleaner?

The toner will literally flow off the board even without scrubbing it off..

Thanks for sharing this tip.  I've done a toner PCB just once, and the toner removing part was too time consuming with isopropyl alcohol, lost of scrubbing.  Didn't have acetone, which I guess is better, but still requires some hard work and repeating the cleaning process several times.

Regards.

P.S.  If it removes toner so easily, you should be extra careful where you apply it.  I bet this would destroy any furniture finishing and perhaps decolor clothing!

I don't think it will stain or discolor clothing,
BUT BE VERY CARFULL CARB. CLEANER IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE.
Use it in well vented areas only, preferable outside. Wear gloves as it will dry your skin out. It also smells very bad and will make you dizzy as heck too.

carg cleaner containes Toluene.
sim to laquer thinner.
i just use laquer thinner.
$2.50 4 a gal @ HomeDepot.
I use LT 4 thinninig primer also.
Just put a spot on LT on the corner of a clean rag.
Wipe until black.
Use a different part of the cloth each time.
when finished, but, before soldering,
shine up the copper with some 220 or 320 grit sandpaper.
been working 4 me for over 30yrs.

I just use a SOS pad to get the stuff off. I have to rinse it off after etching anyway...  8)

I use a paper towel or tissue with actone. Comes off in a couple of wipes farily easily with little mess.

I use "virulana" (an iron wool brand used for regular house cleaning) for pre-transfer polish and post-etch toner removal, and it works like a charm.
Cut it large, and smash it into place with a hammer.
