Convention creates following, following creates convention.

You should try one of those places that provides advanced color matching - i.e. bring a paint chip or piece, they scan it and make the color for you.

I went to sooo many fckn places today looking for this color without ANY luck. I thin k the closest was a florescent and that was about it. I went every where from auto stores/walmart/hobby shops ect.. I suppose ill have to find it online somewhere. THis Sucks!

Try to find a local sherwin williams or porter store.  They should be able to match it, if you have a sample, but I'm not sure about getting it in the medium you want (i.e. - enamel or acrylic, etc.) because most of their stuff is latex and oil based house paints.

It's worth a shot.

I use Valspar American Tradition Ultra Enamel #165880 Lawn Green Gloss. It's a darker green like the older 808's. They have it at Lowes for $2.87.

I can't find the stock # online to show you, but it look's good to me. You may find it too dark. Goes on real nice, and rubs out well, if you want. I use their Ultra Enamel for all my solid colors, and Hammerite for the fancier finishes.

There is a high temp engine enamel that's made by duplicolor, they have a green that might be close "grabber green" I've seen it at wal-mart and autoparts places.
hope it helps

Thanks all- I check them all out. I like the Duplicolor paints. Here the list and there are a few diff greens tht might look good or real close - grabber green or the torque n teel. Scroll down and tell me what you think is better? http://www.duplicolor.com/products/colors/highheat.html

Between the two, I'd pick the Torque n' Teel over the grabber green. The Grabber Green looks like it might be too Fluoresent in person. Actually, I thought the Ford Green was good, but I seem to go darker on the green than Ibanez did.

thats exactly what i thought. Ford gree was decent too. I think ill go w the torque one. I know im probably being picky - but whe you work hard on something you dont want to finish it half assed.

I agree, the finish is the first impression the pedal makes on someone, then once it's plugged in, the tone counts. I'm sure a lot of people passed on trying some good pedals just because they didn't look good or interesting. Human nature, I guess.

Its funny that recently Im mezmerized my that damned tube screamer green color. I know its really ugly- but i cant get enough of it..You know like Mango from SNL.  OOOH Mango

Ok. I went to Walmart and could only find the Duplicolor grabber green. I wanted the  torque n tell but no luck. As it turned out - I think the one I bought was better-a lot less florescent than i thought it would be- I matched it to my ts-9 and its a damned close match! Very recommended! Less than 4 dollars (3.50$) I think. And Its made for engines so the temp rating can go to 500 plus temp without a problem (for those who bake effects after painting)

The Grabber Green is definitely TS9. For a TS-808, Ford Green is probably closest, but it's not quite there... actually, Ibanez didn't even get a dead on match with the reissue TS-808... Must be that late 1970s paint mojo.

ildar

I wonder what you would find if you could line up a few hundred TS9s from the early 80s to see the variation in color amongst all of them.
It stands to reason that Ibanez didn't make their own paint (I'm guessing they might even send the enclosures out to be sprayed, but I don't know), and their supplier (like any paint manufacturer) made/makes their paint in "runs" or batches, so there will always be a slight variation between batches.
The point being that there is no such thing as the "true" TS green color.
Just my two cents.
