Hmm, what is "vintage" ?
1977 script logo `phase 90
1974 "London Fuzz"  ( swopped  it for a Jacques pedal ! )
Late 70's Big Muff
1980 Ibanez OD855
1983 Pearl Flanger/chorus/Phaser/Distortion/Overdrive
1979 Boss OD-1, CS-1
1982 Boss DM-2
1979? Dod 490 Phaser
1978 Roland CE-1
etc, etc, etc !

If you come across the Dod 490, its a cracking little phaser, Like my old phase 90, but with a "regen" pot !

I have a Maestro FZ-1a Fuzztone that is very unpredictable..... hissy and splatty sounding or quiet and smooth.  It's been kinda falling apart through the years and I find myself resoldering stuff on it quite a bit to keep it together. Since discovering a couple of different schematics for it, I noticed something weird: The 2nd transistor has only 2 legs on mine.

I don't have any vintage effects but I have a couple of great vintage amps.

My main amp now is a '63 Gibson Falcon with reverb and tremelo.  Outstanding clean, jazz tone around 7 on the volume knob.  Cranked it gets some mild to medium overdrive, I think it sounds a bit like Creedance.

I also have a Harmony H303A which is a bit like a Fender Champ.  Its never real clean, and hates to be played on anything but 10.

I love these amps, especially the Gibson, they really got soul.

78 stratocaster, which actually weighs more than most les pauls!

and a bunch more usless crap that should probably make its way to the e-bay so I can clean out the lab and quit work for a while, but..............

I have an original Ibanez TS-808 and a script logo MXR Blue Box. I bought the 808 new when they first came out and I was given the Blue box by a bandmate about 10 years ago.

I built a clone of the 808 and retired the original but I rarely plug in the blue Box.

My pedalboard is comprised of homebuilt FX entirely now.

leonhendrix

The only vintage fx i have now is a jen wah with no pot and a 67' crybaby (the one with the logo on the top) which now has the jen wah pot and a marshall supa wah enclosure with my own circuit in it

but if i had posted around a couple of months ago, these were my mojo fx

trem face (gave it to a friend)
another jen wah
park solasound wah-swell
marshall supa wah
vox wah wah
vox v846-italian
kimbara fuzz (havent got a clue what happened to that, i might have lost it on purpose)

i did win an original clyde mccoy on ebay a few months ago but the less said about that the better

vintage? umm.. so like 20+ years? or 25+?

heheh.. i don't have much left for old gear.

i have a 1980 Gibson Sonex 180 Deluxe
1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom
1979 JCM 800 2203 with 1982B matching cabinet
a traynor combo amp from the mid 70's... not currently working
a mid 70's yamaha acoustic guitar
1983 boss HM-2
1982 boss CE-3

umm.. i think thats it... sold my old hiwatt... wasn't really into pedals much, other than funky distortion and delay boxes, until more recently. i went through a 'rack and modelling' phase.. i think we all go through it at one time or another until we realize its still not as good as the original stuff!

I sold all my vintage stuff as I didn't want to jump all over it at gigs so it was just hanging around in the wardrobe and since it is now going for silly prices I thought why not! I thought it would be ebtter to let someone who collects this stuff have it and I'd get on with using more reliable modern gear, most of which I have also sold since I started making my own.
The only origianl gear I have kept and wouldn't get rid of is my Marshall Jackhammer, Snarling Dogs Black Dog, Boss Chorus and Morley Power Wah.
I sold quite a bit of stuff to a collector who had been in a guitar magazine including a red coloursound wah in original box and a JHS echo delay chamber (poor echo unit but all original).
I still have a Melos delay unit that I got years ago in a box of other equipment but it is in a poor state of repair. There is a pot inside wrapped in tape and I have no idea what it does, does anyone know?

So far, I have a 70's V846 CryBaby and a 70's Italian Vox with a Red Fasel Inductor, I think this is the V846 model as well. For the rest, I've built everything else that I ever wanted!
