I'm looking for Dual Concentric Control Pots like these:

Surely there are some somewhere that aren't $20 each?

any idea?

thanks in advance.

Quote from: Fret WireThese are 24mm dual gang Alpha's. Hope this helps Brian. :)

Thanks!! :)

Any idea if those will fit in the space of the boss type? For example, as a replacement for the metal zone? Anyhow, thanks again for the quick response -- happy new year! :)

Probably not, I think you'd need 16mm for a boss pedal. Sorry that link didn't go to home page, it was Antique Electronics. Decent selection of Alpha 24mm pots.

Jameco is starting to carry Alpha 24mm and 16mm lin. tapers at good prices.

Sorry Brian, can't seem to find 16mm duals.
Anyways, thanks for the wish, and a good New Years to you. :)

Don't confuse "dual concentric" with "dual gang".
The latter is just a one knob, two track pot.
The former (impossible to find, and if you do, no knobs exist) has one shaft inside the other and two independent knobs, so you can eg. adjust vol and tone with only one hole..
imagine what the 4MS gang could do with a Raco box and thirty of these

Duh!  I was posting dual gangs, and Brian wants dual concentrics. Didnt even catch the dual knob arrangement. Availability really sucks with those.

and price, apparently.  they LOOK a little cool i spose, but i don't see any practical advantage other than taking up less room.

if there IS room inside, i would just drill another hole and use another pot altogether.  the controls using those pots on that pedal look kind of dumb as it is... if i ever bought a pedal, and it had dual concentric pots, i could see myself going crazy when the top knob started to turn the lower knob at the same time (i bet it would, eventually...), and the first thing i'd do would be to drill separate holes and use separate pots for every control.  might not be the answer you're looking for considering you're just fixing a commercial pedal, but personally i don't think i'd ever spend more than 2 bucks to replace a pot on anything, dual concentric or not.

the ones you linked to came with knobs, and they looked kind of pretty, like they'd be a replacement for one of those marshall stompers, so you might cut some of the cost if you find a bare pot, and use the knobs from the broken pot if you still have them.  i dunno.  good luck, whatever you decide

is the pedal after the 5 year warrenty?  Try contacting boss.
