Each time I tweak the Gov'nor circuit I built off of GGG it sounds better and better, but I'm not sure how to take it to the next level. So far I've gone to higher quality film caps and better resistors and changed some pots.... I tried a lot of things but now I have modded the thing so much that almost none of the pads are there anymore and a lot of the traces are hosed.... guess it's time to make a new one and I want to add to the layout some mods that I want to try, but thought I would first ask around on what mods people have tried.

Mostly, I'm wondering how to bring out the bass more on this circuit and wondering what people have found that worked for them?

I tried many things, but I really like the 3mm red LEDs too, has anyone gotten an asymetrical clipping diode pair they liked better?

Someone mentioned using 25K pots on the tone section - how did that work out if you tried it?

This circuit also lacks a lot of the punch that the BSIB2 (and real Marshall amp) has I'm wondering about adding an additional stage on the end of this pedal with a lot of gain - it seems like the tone section is softening the sound but also absorbing all of pulse in the signal - I wonder if this would get better if I pushed more current through the tone stage - anyone thought about that?

Nice circuit It seems like there is a lot of character to work with there, but somehow it needs to be refined a bit.

Ya...   that's BSIAB 2... it was late...

There are things I like about both... after some tweaks on the Guv'nor I like them both equally, but I want to do a little more out of each one. I think both might work great with some active filters to bring out the bass a bit and to spice up the Guv'nor's "cha-chunck" on a string sweep.... - the passive filter on the Guv'nor kind of sucks the life out of it.

On the BSIAB 2, I would like to push the overdrive a bit more and add 3 band Eq - but once you do that you run the risk of softening the sound as well... I'm thinking about this, eventually I'll figure something out, but I'm wondering what's been done...
