I am about to order parts to build the MXR Envelope Filter (ala Tone Pad). I am wondering if anyone can help me with what IC's (4066, 4029(x2)) i should order from mouser..

thanks

The important part is to make sure you get unbuffered inverters. These chips will have part numbers with a "UB" on the end and possibly more letters, but the "UB" part is a must.

Example: HEF4069UB (Philips part number)

The original schematic specifies the use of RCA chips only.

Try Mouser parts 511-4069U or 512-CD4069UBCN. I would get both just to make sure you have more options. You can always build any of the great tube-sound-fuzz type circuits with the left over chips. 8)

I don't think there's anything special about the 4066. I think my MXR original may have had 4016 switches instead, but the 4066 will probably work the same.

This is easily my all time favorite purchased pedal. I hope it brings you happiness. :D

I had mine working with 4049s on my breadboard - be carefull though, different pinout as they are 16 pin.
