Hi, you should be able to find some "similar" tins, try the "motorway service stations" they normaly have "drivers" mints or sweet tins.
Or a specialist "sweet shop" should have some.
Here's a few I've used, both sweet and candle tins.....

"Brian may treble boost"  this "hot" mint tin is the same as the "altoids" tin --- very tight fit though !  ( ooh aarrr ;-) )

Good luck !!

Altoids are mints that are commonly available in the UK, Continental US, all over europe etc...

You can really use any little mint/cookie tin...it's just that altoids are just so good also....it's an excuse to buy yourself a few packs  :D

Im assuming (naively) that on the larger 'tins' one would have to reinforce the lid somehow if there were a stompswitch present.. truth?

but geez, i dunno why everyone buys the red peppermint kind...  wintergreen is the way to go  8)

ROCK ON!!! Wintogreen is the ONLY kind I buy. Is that sturdy? I never tried putting a switch in before...

i used one of those cheapo x-wing dpdts!  they're perfect cuz the lugs are out on the sides, so it can rest against the bottom of the tin no problem.  my next feat will be a little double-booster in one of those tinier altoids chewing gum tins!  im just gonna use dpdt toggles, and have the battery strapped outside of the tin, use a male plug for the input, and it'll plug direct into my guitar!  might have to grind down some lugs here and there to make it all fit, but if nothing else it'll be fun to try, and i can always just put ONE in there if its a lost cause
