I applogise if this is the 1,000,000th time this q has been asked but here goes................

The transformer for the Tycobrahe oct, can i use one of these?

http://www.oep.co.uk/audio_transformers_high_performance/audio_transformers_high_performance.html

I have two of the 6.3 + 6.3 : 1 + 1  transformers in an old box that was being thrown away.

Can I use it for the oct or is its uses some where else?

You'll get some good info if you go to "Search" and use the phrase "42tm022" which is the Mouser part number for the transformer to use in an Octavia clone.  Here's a link to a data sheet from Mouser:

I found one reference that a "42tm011" would work as well, it has similar specs to the "22."  And finally, a "22" will only set you back $1.73 USD.

Thank you for you reply but i didnt want to buy one, I just wanted to know if The ones i found could be used. Cos i i got given a bunch of bits n bobs.

"Bits and Bobs"? You must be from England  I have a friens in Plymstock, Plymouth, Devon, who taught me what "slagging" means, and what the "boot" is on your car. Anyway, I believe the Bobtavia is a 1:1 ratio transformer, it may work in that. The Bobtavia and the Simple Octave Up use the same 273-1380 Radio Shack transformer, so you could try either and see. If not, all you'd have to do is substitute out the one you tried. It's worth a shot anyway.
