do things like PC-mount components, (switches, jacks, transistor sockets, etc.) that arent available with solder-lugs mount onto perfboard?

this is the first actual pedal im building and id rather not do the whole PCB thing yet. it seems like the wholes would have to be spaced the same, but id rather save myself the pain of ordering tons of parts that wouldnt fit.

The answer is, usually none of the PCB stuff fits perfboard. Because, the legs or pins are spaced wrong or the wrong size or both.
PLUS, PCB mount stuff often wont fit to a box case! because there is no mounting threads!! because it is intended to solder to a pCB!!!

I know you didn't want to hear that, but my friend the doctor says "ya gotta tell them straight, they're gunna find out anyway"

haha well i was wrong.

trust me, i do appreciate it.

as painful as it is to find dp3t switches that are solder-lug, i will find a way to use a slide switch (for under 3 bucks) rather than the goddamn toggles, which run 17-23 bucks. im working an alternate design that uses more switches, but i dont know if it will save money, space, or functionality, so i might be screwed. well see...
