Quote from: nilskojjum, your boxed look awesome. I'm not very creative when it comes to designing the face, thumbs up to you (but at least my controls go to 12  8) *g*)

Here's a link to some earlier boxes.

Those are great looking!  I can only hope that my first finish attempt looks that good.

BTW, I would love to have one of your boxes just for the for the "SMAK" knob.

<edit>

You made your own SansAmp?!?!

That's BEAUTIFUL!

Yes, I made my own SansAmp...with good help from TonePad:oops: . It's built on the PCB found there.  The knobs are missing on the images. I found a Boss like knob that's in place now.

Tha naming of my creations are all traditional swedish dishes. Like "blodpudding" equal to blackpudding. The knobs are krydda=spice, stek=how well you whant it done and smak=taste. That theeme comes back with all my builds. The SansAmp is named Smorgasboard;-)

I have a local guy who paints motorcycles help me out with paint from time to time.......

What do you mean the tour is over?

H.Manback

Holy crap! No pedal builder should be without a local motorcycle painting dude ever! Awesome paint jobs there!

Oh and here is a pic of my first build, I made the picture some time ago when it was still work in progress:

The enclosure is a sheet metal folding affair, not quite perfect... The paint job is just plain automotive primer with a matte black paint job over it. The text and pictures are from the colour printer, I just printed on plain white paper labels. It definately has a Lo-Fi feel to it (or you could say the detailing is a bit crap ;)), but I still like the way it turned out.

I like the lit eyes.

kojjum : I actually like the naked knob look  :o

works great...i like it a lot.

its about $8 a can at the local automotive store...1 can will do 8-10 pedals, if youre careful.

ive only found black "in stock" so far...i know they make white as well, but its special order...of course you can get brush on truck bed liner in lots of colors, but ive only tried the spray on....

This was my first attempt using clear decal and clear coat

sir_modulus

Wow...all of these look so good!!!

I'm just taking my first ventures into decals...so I was wondering if someone could tell me how to use small bears "Inkjet Decal stock"? Are there some specific tricks to make it easier to do? What is a good method to adding those type of decals?

Cheers,

Nish

Hi,

not really paintjob, but experimented with cedar Wood veneer..

It looks really good and it is my actual workhorse on my Stompboard.

Hi,

Thanx - and its quite easy to make !!! You only need a sheet of a thin
cedarwood (mostly used in CigarBoxes = maybe a Cigarshop gives those
sheets away...)

I used a Hammond 1590BB as You could read in my Report (link in my first Post... = but its in German)
And glued the Sheet onto the top with woodglue (Ponal Express from Henkel)
Perhaps another type of glue would work properly too..
And after sanding the surface and varnisching, You can bring on the Letters.. And then doing the finish with another layer of clear coat.

But as i said - its really easy and fast to make !

Now that's a cool idea.  Make the pedal match your guitar.  I love the white binding on the top of that one.  Great touch!

:?: Has someone done a "swirl" paint job yet?  That wouldn't be too hard.  And if you have a nice swirl paint job Jem to match it, that would be uber cool.  :)

:!: I need to make a sunburst pedal.  :D

Paul Marossy

Probably not awesome, but here is my first fabric covered pedal. It looks better in real life.

And here is my Shaka Express which I think turned out pretty good.

Oliver

Hi Paul,

that looks vera interesting !!!

How did you bring the cloth so tidy on the Box??

bye

Here are my "faces" series pedals- these are all dark tshirt transfer.
All boxes here are custom fabricated from 16ga al.

http://www.circuitmuse.com/circuitmuse_007.htm

and here are my first few pedals....not inspiring, but functional.
All pedals in the top row are constructed from custom fabricated enclosures and are finished with a combination of tshirt transfer paper and fabric paints.

The middle row are constructed from 1590B and BB enclosures.

In the third row, the Chorus is Tshirt transfer.  The Vintage Delay and Vintage Tremolo were done by printing toner onto a toner reactive foil.  I used spray fabric adhesive to bond the toner, then transferred the toner directly to the painted surface from the foil so that there is no carrier or plastic film left on the enclosure.  Using the spray adhesive, no heat treatment is necessary to get the toner to transfer.  It is time consuming, but looks ok if you want black text/graphics.

Cool, the faces are definitely different!  8)
