Mine is built to Ricky's schem....and it works.  But I sometimes get a strange octave below creeping in as a note decays.
Also...when I back off my ax volume to half....I get mud.
And then (at this setting) when turning the bias pot...it's a wah wah!  But it goes from bassy to a muddy mid....never to a clear treble.  I'm not asking to be walked thru a de-bugging...since RG has gone beyond the call of duty in that area.  Just wondering if this *mid-thing* is normal for the circuit?

BUMP...???  Hmmm...does that move the post up to the front?

OK...that answered my question. SHEESH...I'm talking to myself!!!

I have an American Standard Strat...tone pots removed...extra switch to add out of phase bridge PU to any combo.  I'll admit...I'm not the best DYI guy.  My circuit may be a bit amiss.  Used  *on hand* trannys.
2N4401,  2N3904,  2N5088 for Qs 1-2-3.
It's an interesting effect...a *wha* sound w/no induction coil.  But needs more high end...and doesn't clean up well  (too muddy).

I was acting because the tonebenders act crazy when an active guitar is used.

I had problems with mine when I was building it.

I ended up rewiring it for positive ground...now I can't use it with a Boss-style adapter, but at least now it works. It didn't like being wired for negative ground.
