yep - the fulltone DP-1 is very similar to the AMZ Overdrive Pro - which has a rat-like topology....

The OCD does not sound like a rat, it seems to have more of a overdriven JFET sound, kind of like a cascaded set of AMZ boosts or a BSIAB, 18... kind of thing... perhaps this box has a TL072 driving a J201???

Mike Fuller is experimenting with which kind of goop gives the best sound then?
Looks like he beat you to it with the "Harshaway" goop Peter :wink:  This must be the "modern" variety, the goop in the pic Lurco posted looked more vintage to me.

the components on the bottom right hand corner of the rightmost pile of goop look like back to back diodes to me.

There is also what looks like an 8pin DIP in the same goop.

This and the presence of what looks like 2 TO72 case semiconductors on the top left hand side of the leftmost pile of goop suggest "Tubescreamer clone/variant" to my mind .....

Would taking it to the dentist and getting it x-rayed ruin it?  Maybe getting the dentist to "mess up" one of your x-rays would solve all of this without scratching the crap off.

That was my thought as well.... A fet to fet distortion is what it sounds like.
