i picked up a couple of 12AU7 tubes at a local shop (moving sale, drew me in, had to buy things   ) and i need some advice on what to do with them.

One i wish to use in a tube driver circuit (i assume this can replace the 12AX7 effectively) but i have no idea about that other one. i have considered using it in a dual FET circuit for a more "smooth" tone, but i really don't know what this tube does best. Ideas?

You can use a 12AU7 in place of a 12AX7. It has a lower Mu (gain) than a 12AX7. You could use it in a tube amp or build a Shaka Tube or something. Or keep that second one as a spare...  8)
