Ho do you mount your LEDs?

I've been using the chrome jewel led mounts.  How do you go about mounting the leds without any mounting hardware visible?  Are they mounted on the PCB and that is what is holding them there? :?:

dosmun

I recently did a pedal with no LED holder.  I just drilled the hole small enought that the LED fit in tightly.  You can also throw a little glue on the inside of the box around the LED to hold it in place.

I kinda do it like dosmun, but I put a piece of black electrical tape on the underside of the box, and poke a hole.  The hole drilled in the box is big enough to fit the head of the LED, but not its lip at the base.  The tackiness of the tape and the tight fit holds the LED in place.  Haven't had any problems with them falling out (or in, depending on how you look at it).  Someone on this board said he uses coffee straws (the ones with two chambers) to shield the leads, and I tried that - it works great.

You can sort of see it in the pics at the beginning of this thread:

OMG  That is awsome.  Now I don't have to look all over the place for whatever MXR used and then get socked an arm and a leg.

I put a non conductive 'bar' across the back of the LED sometimes, between the leads to keep it from falling into the box, sometimes I use pots or even the board to hold them in, with a piece of foam or hardboard/cardboard or...

Epoxy is my friend.  The local craft store can supply many cool guitar pedal worthy trinkets.

I have one preamp that I have epoxy-glued the LED inside a plastic necklace bead, placed the bead tightly in the hole just so it fits.  The combination of the epoxy, blue bead, blue LED generate a pretty cool glow...for the rest I have just used chinsey plastic LED bezels and epoxy.  I love epoxy.

heatshirnk is the origional insulator...I've never used it myself, but you can nicely contain the resistor inside this stuff too.
