Little Gem MKII remote footswitch

Hello

I sent an e- mail about this to the people at Runoffgroove and they suggested I should ask for advice here.

What I want to do is add a footswitch to control the gain of my Little Gem MKII. I also want to leave the small toggle switch to the panel. When the footswitch cable is inserted, the toggleswitch is disconnected. How would I do this? Would it be overly difficult?
Using both the toggle and footswitch at the same time would be fine too, but I don't know how to (is it even possible? ) do this either.

I'd appreciate your help.
