What is IC3 - 5v reg in the rebote 2 delay?

It's a 5 volt regulator. The delay chip can only handle 5 volts but the rest of the pedal operates off 9 volts. The regulator drops the 9 volts down to, and maintains it at, 5 volts for the delay chip. On the schematic it's the little box with Vin, Vout and Gnd in it.
