Tubescreamer bias resistor for second half of op

Is it a must or not really necessary?
The son of screamer doesn't have one and the boss sd-1 has the 0.018uF cap connected to V/2?

Which SD-1 schem are you looking at? The one I just found shows the .018uf cap to ground, with a 10k to V/2.

I don't have a schem for Jack's Son of Screamer, so I don't know.

I'm looking at phillips schem on fuzzcentral
and I found that this is correct opening a sd-1.

I was looking at the distortion section over at GM Arts.

Not calling you on it, just pointing out my reference.

Hmmmm....you opened a box and checked - that just seems wierd to supply bias voltage through a small cap....

Yeah,
I saw the shems but they are not really accurate!
