Looking for a simple, one evening project I decided to build the Pico Morado (Purple Peaker) from the Tonepad site http://www.tonepad.com/

Unfortunately, like Mark Hammer, I can't leave well enough alone and ended up modding it a bit (who wants a pedal with no knobs?    )

I replaced R10 and R12 with 100k pots to give some variation in the amount of boost in the two frequency peaks. 50k pots would probably work better since there isn't much action in the first half of the pots rotation but I have lots of really small 100k pots. I also got rid of S1 and S2 since their functions were pretty much replaced by the pots.

I added a switched 2.2uF cap across R4, Q2's emitter resistor. This gave me switchable clean or distorted boost. I'm guessing that replacing R4 with a 5k pot with the cap from the wiper to ground would make this a distortion control like a Fuzz Face.

Add a dpdt stomp switch and now I have another pedal to box.

Hi.
I´ll try making this in some free time.
I consider replacing the switches for Pots, for achieving the "adjustable freq boost", but maybe the way you made it is better.
I´ll notify when got something.
Regards.

You might want to take a look at the Mr. Q from runoffgroove, haven't built it but it used the Purple Peaker as an inspiration. Sound clips available so you can judge for yourself.
