Has anyone played one of these or drawn a schem?  I'm curious if it's really digital, or just a DC-2 with knobs.  Roland's "Digital Chorus" from the late seventies, the one that looks like a space echo, is of course totally analog...

Not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure it's a digital box by all accounts I've read.

This site seems to list the original specs of the Boss boxes, and one of the specs for the DC-3 is a 50 kHz sampling rate, which pretty well tips the hand.

Take care,

As far as the Boss compacts go all the ones that have digital in the name are indeed at least partially digital.  It may well be that, similar to the DD-2 and original DD-3, only the delay chip is digital and the rest of the circuit path is analog but I haven't seen a schematic for the DC-3.  Anyone I know who has tried both says they sound nothing alike however.

Wow--I never noticed that page before.  Thanks a lot!  Maybe I'll find one and buy it...

Ya know, I've had one of these for a long time. I've never had the inkling (is that even a word?) to take it apart. Is anybody interested in some pics of the inside? For educational use only of course... :D

I wouldn't mind a peek.  I just got outbid on one on the 'bay.  :(

The DC3 is a cool pedal, but it sounds totally different than the DC2. It has an "effect level" control to dial in the blend of chorus:direct signal so you can dial in the right amount of chorus without it sounding too dated (unless that's what you're going for of course).
