Capacitor question...

so its a stupid question but a question none the less:
on a capacitator which side is positive? (longer lead or shorter; arrow pointing)

I also have a capacitor that doesnt seem to have any marking on it either way.  Both leads are the same langth and has no arrows. help?

The postive side is the longer leg. If you look closely at the arrow you will probably see  minus or negative signs(-), this points to the negative leg.  As for your other capacitor is is probably a normal nonpolarized capacitor meaning it doesn't matter which way you put it in.

if you want some real fun, get a power supply and throw some moderate voltage through one of those polarized caps backwards.  there you have it, nerd fireworks, also known as geek bombs :D
