The Tone God

Its like one of those massive car wrecks you see on the road with all the helicopters flying around. I can't look but yet I cannot turn away. Attempting to seek knowledge but with the sheer abilty to completely ignore what is availible. I would almost swear that hes a modfied chat bot. Atleast its not september.

He may just single handedly push this forum over the 500,000 posts mark by the end of the week. GO Walters GO!!! You magnificently anoying bastard. I sault you. (Figure out how I'm doing it.) Your a credit to your breed/inbreed.

Andrew

P.S. Get the hint. :?:

brad

1) Is he real?

2) Or is it us who are not real?

walters asks the big questions.  :o

Alex C

1) Walters is definitely a winner, do you guys know anything about him?

2) Here is a screenshot from earlier; would you guys like to see it? http://tinypic.com/2n98bl

3)  I don't know what a chatbot is, but I guess it's an automated program that just posts over and over.  But how does walters get the detailed questions???

4) Insert more questions here???

puretube

F-T-T ??? seems not...

Transmogrifox

Take it easy on him.  It looks like he just joined the forum yesterday and his head is full of questions he's been dying to ask for a long time.  He's likely excited that there's actually a place he may learn a thing about stompbox FX.

Give it a few days, and I'll bet his posts won't be so overwhelming, though I do have to chuckle about the chatbot thing  :) .  I must admit that's what I was thinking when I saw how many questions were coming out of him!  Call me naive, but I do think he's legitimately looking to learn about this stuff.

Hey Walters: build a phasor and study it on your oscilloscope.  Do some frequency sweeps with the LFO Contol Voltage frozen at certain "snapshots" and you'll see how it works.

Sorry walters!

The dude knows more than me that's for sure.  :o

Alex C

Yeah, now that I read his other thread, I see where he is coming from.  Sorry, I thought I was making fun of a robot.  Welcome to the forum!

Vsat

At least the questions aren't about Distortion/Fuzz/Overdrive....  ;D
;O  :o   :)

Cheerio, Mike

R.G.

Yeah, let him learn. If he's a bot, we'll find out. I don't think he is.

He *may* be under 16, non-native English speaking, or genuinely ...um... differently clued, terminally enthusiastic, or multiple combinations.

I believe he's interested in learning but not too well clued about how to do it. I've sent some private mail to him advising him on some ways to get better responses.

Think about what *I* was like when I was 14...

I was a pest once - yeah, like I'm not now 8-)

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

When he fits an ADA Flanger layout in a 1590b, we won't be laughing.

If you're serious about learning, taking a swing at R.G. on your second day in the forum is only going to alienate you. He and many others here spend countless hours sharing their wisdom and experience helping guys like me gain an understanding of effects building (and electronics in general) that couldn't be gleaned from books.

A little friendly advice would be to search the forum before submitting a question and try condensing the quantity of posts into fewer, well thought out topics. You seem like a bright person, and a little etiquette goes a long way here. This isn't Harmony Central.

hmm...thats not likely to help your case. RG didnt insult you in any way...he simply stated that he wasnt sure of your age, background, etc, but you seemed overly enthusiastic, much like *he* was at 14 yrs old.

anyway, in the other thread you stated that you were being "verbally abused"....it actually looks like its the other way around.

please...settle down, respect others (and they will respect you), and try to work *with* the people here, instead of *against* them.

if youre enthusiastic, thats great !  its a good thing to be.... :D

if youre just out *trolling*, then thats plain disrespectful, and the that type of person is not needed here.

so...do you want to "play nice" and learn , or just stir things up?

i hope you want to learn, and are just unsure of the proper, respectful ways of doing it.

have a great day,
 andy
