Hey all,

I'm fixin' to build me a Tim Escobedo T.M.K.  (It's hard to search for information on this beast given it's short acronymic title.)

The schematic looks pretty clear, just wondering what Si diodes people have found work nicely.

TIA!

I have the parts bagged up to build this thing, but I haven't built it as of yet. I was going to use 1N914s. He calls for 1N4148s, but these seem to be used interchangeably. In a most case Si diodes are "to taste" anyway, so you just have to build with one type, and then play with others to see what works best for your setup.

I built it and its absolutely mad, wish I had more arms to twiddle the feedback and gain knobs and play guitar...its just great...any SI signal diode would work one supposes. And in the spirit of the Tim why not try Ge as well or even LED's.Then switch 'em and call it the T.M.K.A.A.W.L.S.

1n914 diodes and 1n4148 diodes are, as far as we're concerned in the heady world of stomp box building, exactlly the same thing.

if you're wanting to try a silicon diode in something then you can choose either of them and to the best of my knowledge you will get the same sound.

thanx,

i have seen a layout posted for this somewhere but if i remember right it had all the parts placed in the drawing and no pic of the board traces on their own. Anyone got a good layout with a pic of just the pcb traces for this?

(Hope that maid sense)
