how do you number the JFET pins in SCH? anyone?

littlegreiger

Do you mean label, like D S G? If you do all you have to do is select the text tool on left side toolbar. Then type the letter in the box at the top right and click where you want it on your schematic.

You have to ungroup the part and number/ label each pin (under "component" menu"). Then regroup it into a component.

This does not number and label the pins for use in ExpressPCB. If you want to use the .sch file with ExpressPCB, you need to follow the above procedure (ungroup/regroup).

You will get an error if you click in the schematic with the text tool before entering text in the toolbar at the top. You type what text you want in the toolbar, then click where you want it. You can then double-click the type you placed to edit it.

IIRC, you first have to ungroup the component, and then double click on the pins, and set the pin number. After you've done it for all the pins in the component, just regroup.

edit: oops, bwanasonic beat me to it :)
Cut it large, and smash it into place with a hammer.

damn, you actually have to lay out your own boards in express PCB? someone should make a program that does it all automatically, just upload the schematic and BAM!! a PCB.

That's a very difficult thing to make a computer do well, school.  IIRC from some previous threads here, some companies do make spftware that auto-routes circuits, but it's very expensive.  Give it a few years or decades, and we'll have it for cheap.

Give it some time and you'll know how to do it yourself!    :D
