So my luck finally ran out and I need help trouble shooting my circuit.
First things first I read the sticky, but am embarrassed to say I've had
my multimeter for months and don't know how to use it except for hfe and ohm.

With that said I used GGG layout made a PCB, no parts substitutions
and I've double checked everything.  Problem is no sound (except bypass)
I mean nothin no futs, no buzz, no nothing.  Normally I get a little sputter and realize I've got a loose ground or short at a jack.

How often do you get a dead IC? Could that be it?

Anyway thanks if someone could point me in the direction of
starting to test the circuit and IC via multimeter I may be able to be
more clear and give a better idea of whats going on.

First thing I would do is build and use an audio probe.  Especially on a PC board it should be fairly easy to follow the circuit and see where you are losing signal. Also double check and make sure all of the transistors and IC are oriented correctly.

... Did you etch the board backwards?    I did, and someone else did...  theres no scale on that GGG layout so i lost track of whether I flipped it or not... (i draw mine by hand)

If it's not that, then what better time to learn how to use your DMM and an audioprobe?!  Gotta learn sometime, and you only gotta do it once

Check your board against the layout, parts orientation, continuity check along traces if you know how...  I'm sure you'll find it

Wild Zebra

thanks Nabo I will check.  I searched  the achives and saw that was an issue
but I'm pretty sure its right.  Hopefully have some voltages tomorrow.

Have a quick read of arons article at the top of the forum "What to do when it doesn't work".
Check your voltages on the IC for a start, won't work if there's no juice :)
An audio probe would be good to trace signal. Start at the input and find where the break is.
You checked to make sure all your tracks were good??
