I have an Ampeg V-4 that I am trying to rebuild. seems like the previous ownver was a bit of a hacker. I have located a 91 ohm resistor mounted on the outside of the chasis. It seems like its going from the center tap of the output transformer to the main DC supply after the bridge rectifier. Does anyone know if this is where it is supposed to be? It is not in the schematic.

I've played around with tube amps, but i can't guess what the resistor's supposed to do. If your tubes are up to it, I would just convert the amp back to the original schematic.

There are quite a few good amplifier forums where you can get advice: among others http://www.ampage.org and http://www.plexipalace.com They have an American amplifier forum.
