DIY function gen

quick question...need a sig gen and have a couple of MAX038s.  
so I'm planning on building this:

but the schematic calls for a defunct EL2001 for buffering the output.  Can I go wrong with a TL0X1 wired up as a buffer or will there be any significant loading if I leave off the buffer?

think U should use a buffer,
but any TLoxx will work fine.
that's what i used for my 038.
