Hi guys,

I have a Fluke 16 multimeter that does capacitance but the max resolution is only 0.001µF.  So, I am looking for a cheap new meter that does down to 1pf and I have found this

www.circuittest.com  -->  MY-64 for 59.95 CND

It does:
Capacitance
HFE test
Temp

What do you guys think?  Any other suggestions for a good cheap meter?

Thanks,
BT

any cap tester probably won't B too accurate Blow 10pf.
U know, take a known cap & parallel other small caps.
C what kind of change it makes.
caps Blow 10pf, are not used in the audio range much.
heck probably not Blow 100pf.   Now for RadioFreqs(RF)..that's different.
for uncompensated Opamps, almost any cap will work.
it's just to stabeilize the amp.

Now that's a great idea....why didn't I think of that.  I've got a couple of 1µf metal film caps that read exactly 1.0 ...that would make it so easy it's almost laughable......<sigh> now I'm really feeling the electronic noob in me.

Thanks,

I have yet to find a reasonable working cap meter.  Or (very sadly) true RMS.

Nice cap meter that will go down to 1pf on the low end, and far above anything you need on the upper end. I have one and it works great.

the parallel caps work fine.....but, $30 for that meter.......man that's awful temping.  :)
