Hi, i am currently thinking aboutn modding my guitar, and first on the list is onboard electrics, so to activate it i will make my tone control into a push pull pot, keeping it as a tone control, hopefully.
My thoughts are of distortion...any suggestions?
Some Notes:
the effect will be set by taking the back off my guitar, and will use a 9v
Must be small enough to fit into my back cavity of my guitar
be useful
etc
A few pics of my guitar here, including where the electronics will go: http://useless.bizhat.com/
thanks

***edit*** sorry, I asked a question that was answered already....  Is it lunch time yet?

It looks to me that you've got room for most anything you want.  Personally, I'd throw a fuzz face, or perhaps a 386-based distortion in there.

Gah!  I don't want to edit that post AGAIN.

You can see a couple of examples of 386-based effects at //www.runoffgroove.com  Look at the Grace/Big Daddy

Has tons of little bitty effects.

whats 386?
and any more suggestions?
atm im also thinking about an effect that wont be standard on all amps...and presumabely wont it be easy to make the circuits changeable with only like 10-20 mins work whenever i want a different effect in there(probably a dumb idea)
thanks

WHOA!! big daddy sounds AMAZING....ill probably put that in!!
and ill be able to wow people with my "Custom"(ish) guitar with a really cool distortion, does anyone have a wiring diagram for big daddy?
thanks

Clipped

//www.runoffgroove.com

A perf layout is listed with the description of Grace/Big Daddy. Minimal parts count and an easy build.

cheers clipped, but is that it? isnt there a load of unshown wiring, like with most BSIAB vero layouts...

The diagrams at R.O.G. show where the pots and switches connect to the board.  You'll need to reference the schematic for more detail (ex. grounding for the pots/jacks), but it's pretty easy.

Since you're planning to build it into a guitar, you're probably going to have to get a little creative anyway.   :D
