Adding SPDT to Buzz Box... is this right?

OK, I've never tweaked a schematic until just now, so this may be a little funny looking. I wanted a gain control at the front as well as a volume at the end, so I just slapped the two different versions of the buzz box together. My real concern is if the SPDT I added in an attempt to bypass the second stage and fall back to a standard bazz fuzz will work. Anyway, here's my attempt at  tweaking the schematic in photoshop. Please tell me if it's incorrect.

Looks like the second stage has turned into a feedback loop, of sorts, the collector is connected to the base...
Without studying more to see if there isn't an easier way, a Dpdt could be used to true bypass that stage at points shown.

I was wondering if the current would flow backwards into the base, but I don't have enough knowledge to effectively trace the signal path through a circuit yet. Anyway, I guess a DPDT is the cleaner solution anyway. Thanks for the help!

I think you can get it to work with a spdt.

Make the connection between the two Bazz Fuss's permanent (connect the output of the first one to the input of the second one). Break the connection of the second one just before the connection to the 10uF cap.

Connect the common of the switch to the cap, one pole to the output of the second Fuss and the other pole to the output of the first Fuss, just before the 10uF cap (i.e. at the collector of the first transistor).

You might get a wee bit of loading but you probably won't notice it and it won't affect the whole pedal when bypassed if you've true bypassed the whole thing.

Sounds sensible enough...should work...I think that's it.
