Hi guys!

Some times ago I built interesting preamp with FETs. I wrote the article but it is in Russian. Now I've translate it in English :)

Where I can put it to your information?
I can put this article to the same site, but I think it will be better English language site for English version :)

Ivana

Hi, alt!
I wanna see your project in English too! And what about the variant based on Russian-Traditional Jfets?

alt

"Russian-Traditional FETs" Variant was translated to "American Traditional FETs" Variant with J201  ;)

If nobody wants to see this article on English-based site -- it will be put on Russian-based site http://www.sugardas.lt/~igoramps/ soon
Near his big russian brother...

Very soon.. ;)

I love the pic on the bottom of the page.

Hi guys once more!

Finally -- you have very interesting article  in your native languagae from cooool Siberia! ;)

My English is not very fine, but I think you'll understand my ideas and finally get very simple and versatile guitar electronics! :)

Look here!  http://www.sugardas.lt/~igoramps/article57.htm

Have a nice sound!  :D

Thanks for this very interesting article, did you translate this all yourself? It is very good indeed.

Thank you! :)

I think when you put the SAGE into your guitar -- you'll be more wondered ;)

I translated it with internet traslator (I don't remember the site, sorry)
But after that the article had very many funny mistakes and I had to correct them all "by hands" :)

It is the great interest for me -- how this baby will sound with you equipment :)

What about to make this baby? Or you need of PCB? ;)

jrc4558

PCB will be simple to draw up. My main obstacle is time... Anybody wants to volunteer?

Hello alt. I have built your s.a.g.e. it is just the thing i needed in my guitar
I am gonna put this booster in all my guitars, because it makes my guitars sound so much better.
I've used J201 Fet's.
One question, can I use electrolytics for the 2.2uF and 3.3uF because
they are really big, the smallest i could find was the zize of a matchbox,
bigger than the pcb itself, and if so, where should the positive side on the
2.2uF go, to the pot or the fets?
Thank you for a very good circuit.

Arne

Hi Arne!
I'm glad that the SAGE is right for you needs! :)

If you use electrolytics -- you must put positive to FET source (both J1 and J2) because they are under positive potential. Other contacts of these capacitors connected to the ground (via P2 and switch respectively).
In this case I recommend to put little film capacitors in parallel with electrolytics to better sound.

Write please, how you use it with your amps and stompboxes? If you can -- write some samples in any style you wish :)

I've got a draft ready, who wants to take a look at/check it?

I used this one:
