I order from them like a week and a half ago and I still have not received my items, is this normal?  I've never had to wait this long for anything through the mail.

He is on vacation right now so maybe your order didn't get shipped out before he left. However, it says he'll open again on Monday.

that makes me sad, I wanted to mod my pedals and make the booster :(

well, i've never ordered from SB, but from the way everyone here speaks so highly of the cave, I'm sure you're stuff'll be on its way (if it isnt already) very soon, and those pedals will be on the operating table!

Is the sky blue? :)

Just kidding.  There is always a wait for smallbear, at least in my experience. Can't beat the selection though.

Well, I've only placed 2 orders with Small Bear but both have come quickly.

*I smite you for bragging.

lol just kidding, good for you.  I hope I recieve mine soon.  I'm terribly antsy, I feel like I haven't had a mountain dew in a year.  and that's ANTSY!  just to clarify, I'm thoroughly addicted to mountain dew.

 Man, so was I!!!  Before that it was Squirt.  But then we moved away to an area where I couldn't get it.

I'm sure there's a distribution of delivery times.  Some package are fast and some are slow.  I didn't want the thread to look like Small Bear only delivers slowly. :)

corbs

no mountain dew here in the UK :(

ibanezts808

oh my gosh corbs.  How could they do that to you?!?  that's almost barbaric.  I may have to start a website to get people to donate money so I can ship freights of dew to you guys.

Steve operates what is the electronic equivalent of a gourmet mom and pop corner store.  That means that if he and his "staff" aren't at the counter, the store is closed.  Unlike some larger places where there are teams of people busy doing the purchasing from other companies, and other teams busy with taking orders, and still other teams busy finding the stuff in the warehouse, and still OTHER teams busy packing it all up and sending it out,  Steve and one other person (I think) make up all these various teams.  The very fact that Steve is able to twist the space-time contiuum enough to be able to fulfill these functions in a 24-hr day is the very reason he needs, and deserves, a holiday.

Last year he made the leap from doing the SBE thing on the side (with a day job) to relying on it as his sole source of income.  This year, he hired on some help (though obviously not enough).  Perhaps next year it may turn into something which has enough people on the payroll that he'll be able to get out of town for a few days and not have to turn the sign on the door from "open" to "sorry, we're closed".  As frustrating as it can be to wait for an order, it is a sign of good things to come that a business like this can thrive.

Amen, Mark.  I love the fact that Steve has decided to do what he is doing and I support him all the way.  He's my first choice for getting parts.  To me, it's worth the wait while he's on vacation.  We help him by being customers, he helps us by offering what he does and sacrificing lots of time.  A little vacation is deserved and I hope he left his laptop at home.  :D

Even though Mouser is located here in TX, not far from where I live, I'd rather buy from Steve.  I like supporting the small shops.
