fuzz face issue question- to smart people

but for some reason the led wont light and when I use the battery jack for the battery there is only a pulsating sound. I DID use the power jack and that worked great as the effect sounded wonderful( thanks steve!) But like I said no led ( i did chk to make sure it was good) and when i use a battery it does not want to work right.

Looking at this diagram versus other ones i did notice that the sleeve and ring are backwards from all others ive seen- will that make a difference?

i think ill do the positive version- make it more original. Though it does sound really good right now.

If you have [the 'right' or decent] PNP transistors, a Pos Gnd FF [wired right] is a sure fire.
 The Pos Gnd one is certainly worth a try.
 As far as the LED goes, with a 4k7 on it, it has to light when 9v [whatch the polarity] is connected. use the switch [test with DMM to see what's what when you hit the switch] to break [disconnect] and run [connect] the LED Circuit.
