Output level in boss ds-1

I´ve built the ds-1 from tonepad... It's working, but I noticed that the level output setting at max. is a little lower than the bypass level...
Could you tell me if that is normal in a DS-1??? There's something I could do for increasing the output level??'

I was testing the circuit and I realized that there is a loss of level in the tone section... What should I do for solving that problem?... the output level is lower than the bypass level...
