someone i bet has this. I used to own a few and one sounded decent.

QuoteDirty, fuzzy, in-your-face.

Back with the nastiest fuzz you've ever heard! This box made its world debut on the Stones' "Satisfaction" in 1965 and revolutionized guitar tone. Features original-type 2N2613 NPN/PNP transistors, point-to-point wiring, and a design that's entirely faithful to the original. Volume control with on/off, attack, and foot-operated in/out switch. 1/4" I/O. Includes AA battery, reproduction of original instructions with schematics, reproduction of original box, and a brief history. Why go for imperfect digital emulation when you can have the real thing?

Check out Mark Hammer's page in the links section. I'm pretty sure it's in with the other Maestro schematics on page 3.

I found an original from the archives but the pic was too small. Im wondering if anyone ever found a replacemnt for the original transistors. I read where steve at smallbear was looking as well. I wonder if he ever found any.

Those trannies are strange - datasheet ( here ) gives hfe as ~1000. Higher than a 2N5087 but way lower than an MPSA64 pnp darlington. Cant find a sub either ...

Loked like 1000 to me. Never seen that "6" symbol before ...

RedHouse

That symbol is what you see when someone uses a character form a different "character set" than you have on your PC, usually unicode related.
