I recently scored a good deal on a korg M3R synth, but the output of the synth is having major problems.  I though it might be a jack problem but it appears not.  I have an MP3 sample of the output.  If someone has an idea of what may be the problem I'd value your input.  Thanks.

Could be a number of things, depends how confident you are at trying to
fix it ?
Could just be a dry joint around the output op-amps, they should be on
the board somewhere near the output jacks and may be full size or SMD's - the op-amp board may be under another board though !!
Or one/two of them may be damaged.
Can you try using outputs 3&4 rather than 1&2 to see if they are OK ?
I'm sure that you can do this "Globally" somewhere ... ?
Does the headphone output sound fine ?
Is the volume pot just a bit dirty/crackly perhaps ?

Cheers,
Marty.
