Tube Screamer drive

I built a Tube Screamer on the General Guitar Gadgets circuit board and the drive control does nothing, it's basically a true bypass booster pedal at this point.
I've double and triple checked against the drawing, substituted ICs and pots, checked connections for continuity, etc, and I'm out of ideas.
Any tips for making this thing work?  I've made about 6 Fuzz Faces, a BSIAB, a Phase 90 and some Tone Benders and they all just fired right up but this one I screwed up and can't find the flaw.

1.double check diodes and their orientation.
2. check voltage on power pin 8 (9v) and pin4 (0v).

OK, it does boost? Then probably your pot wiring is wrong or shorted somehow or your pot is bad.
