Hi! I have built a opamp muff fuzz for my first project.
It distorts but it gates the signal. When i breadborded it I forgot to put
in the diodes, could this have damaged the opamp?
I used a MC4558 opamp and 1n4148 diodes
Here is the pin voltages:

1=5.15
2=4.83
3=4.68
4=0.00
5=4.69
6=4.82
7=4.80
8=9.56

Battery= 9.56

That how it works.  Diodes in or out are just different sounds with the diodes in it more of the diode "sound" with the diodes out it is more of the opamps sound.  Of course the output level does change.

So it gates because of the diodes?
Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?

Thanks

Gus

It gates because of the design, diodes in or out.  Thats how it works.  Its a more full on and off effect.
