Boss DS-1 Ultra. How does switching work?

Hi all,

I'm attempting the ultra mod on a ds-1 and have a few newbie qns about the switching for the ultra part.

On keeley's webpage it says the ultra mode is an additional led in series with D4.

1. Does it matter whether the led comes before or after the D4 diode?

2. Just in case I ruin the D4 diode, can anyone tell me what value it is (so I can replace it if need be)?

3. Also does it have to run in the same direction?

2. Some Japanese type, a 1n914/4148 will be close enough.

Is the mod on indyguitarist the actual Keeley ultra mod?

It just says modified DS-1

Is it endorsed by Robert Keeley or are they just selling his mods?
