Just wanna have one on my board and haven't really heard many ...

I was thinking of building a "boutique 70's" fuzz from a vero layout in my files, I'm sure most know what this is .... Anyone ever build it ???

any other suggestions ???

I would suggest the 'silicon axis face' which phillip from fuzz central has developed. It sounds real nice and when pushed by a booster you can creep into tonebender mkII territory.

Sure..FF likes tube amp.
I bilt 100 or so...not really but spent countless hours a tweekin' on lots of FF types on the FF testboard that has sockets and adjustable bias's.
You might want to get ready for doing alot of FF testing, I don't know, they all sound different to me, I have one that I haven't been able to beat with a FF now for about 9 months. That's a me/miney opinion, referenced to the fact that the circuit has alot of encarnations that sound different with the same parts on the same board [Ge's] settings and battery supply and guitar and everything else stays the same.
That said, 2n2369...and a different NPN Si in Neg Gnd FF. All mods and added parts change the tone for better or who's worse/ I have at least two going at a time so I can compare on my stuff.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
