I've searched and read all the posts on the Shaka Tube and listened to the clips from various people.  I want to build one and I have some extra tubes at home to play with.  The problem is that I'm having a hard time compiling a parts list for it.  Can anyone help me on this?

Also I think that some use a transformer and other do not.  What is the difference?

I am not aware of a parts list for the Shaka Tube. I made up my own parts list at the time of construction (no I don't have it anymore). On the transformer, one is definitely required - a 120VAC/12.6VAC 800mA wall wart is perfect in my experience. DO NOT try to use a DC wall wart, it will not work.

Ok, i'll give it a shot:

resistors:
10 ohm (this should be 1W, while the other resistors can be 1/4W)
220 ohm
470 ohm
1 K x3
10 K x4
47 K x2
470 K

capacitors:
250 pf
0.01 uf x4
0.1 uf
2.2 uf
22 uf x2
470 uf x4

TL072 IC
1N4001 diode x2
12AX7 (ECC83) tube

100 K A pot - drive
100 K B pot - tone
10 K A pot - volume
10 K trimpot - bias

12 V - AC adaptor

9-pin tube socket
8-pin socket for IC (optional)

mono jack x2
enclosure

Definitely recommended!

Forgot to add these:

3PDT switch (gold-plated for the mojo factor)
LED (you might want to use an actual tube instead of a LED, again for the mojo factor)

:D

Make sure you add 150mA to your transformer specs if you do this.

Boy this sure got out of hand real quick. Thanks by the way.

Could I just paint a tube blue?  :D  :D  :D

That would make it more bluesy!
