Does anybody have or know the name of the font that looks like the lettering Electro-Harmonix used in the mid 70's?  Like this: http://www.big-muff.net/pics/index.php?gallery=Big_Muff_2#    I've looked at a few of the free font sites and can't find it.  A Mac font would be even better.

thanks,
Daniel

This font is called Medusa...
For Russian and NYC Muffs use Pioneer BT font.

Oh... one more thing (maybe two) :)

Fuzz Face font is called Staccato 222
If you want to write 'Electro-Harmonix' on your pedals - font called Sidhe Noble is very similar to original...

Man, that Sidhe Noble is an exact match for the EHX text!!

Also another useful tip: http://www.whatthefont.com. Might require some work in a photo editing program if you don't have a good piece of text, or the letters aren't seperated enough.

Little time to do it right. Always time to do it over.

Electric Warrior

"mistral" will also do for a fuzz face. The font used for the volume and fuzz labels is "microgramma bold extended".

for the Big Muff's volume and sustain labels "devinne swash" is a perfect match

What about Boss fonts? I had a very hard time finding that one a few weeks ago and ended up having to just create some letters in photoshop.

Um, while use of the identical font presents a kind of tongue-in-cheek hommage to the original, I certainly hope that we are not assisting people in creating forgeries here, even if unintentionally.

By all means, feel free to pay respect to the visual sensibility of vintage gear, but do make an effort to very clearly distinguish it from actual vintage gear, even if its only a one-off..

Brush Script Std Medium is the Fender font almost dead on, if you give it that upward slant.
I've had good luck here http://www.1001freefonts.com/mfonts3.htm too

It's alright, Behringer has taken care of that  ;)

Sorry to resurrect this very old topic but the question is the same and I haven't found it answered anywhere because I'm interested in the font of the words "electric mistress". I've tried "what the font" website (even put a chalenge there) and used the picture recognition function but I haven't get there (near but not enough). Does somebody knows more that can help?

EHX's graphic design strategy seems to have been to use established typefaces, modifying some letterform for the sake of uniqueness.

If you wanted to get close to the Electric Mistress font, you could start with Decoro, add the negative line, fix the "r" (superimposing part of the "s" would work), and replace the "t" (maybe with parts of "e" and "l"). That sort of thing. But IMHO you could get the typographic feel by simply adding the negative line through that font.

I've sometimes made a screengrab of a your-own-text specimen from myfonts.com, auto-traced it in Inkscape or Illustrator, and made the changes to the resulting vectors. But this particular one would probably work OK by editing a screengrab in Gimp or Photoshop.

I believe Bogner thought the same...  ::)
...collectors together and emitter to base? You're such a darling...

Yeah... I've started to work with photoshop last night in order to change the image I've got to some nice good looking letters. I've never worked with photoshop before so it's taking time to get it perfect (though first trial aint bad). It's the only thing I can do right know as I'm waiting for parts to arrive from Germany (more than one week now, I'm starting to hate DHL).
