Hello,
I just purchased a new USA Big Muff Pi this week and I am not hearing what I really want out of it.  I used to have a green Russian Big Muff and it sounded far superior to this one.  Does any one have any helpful suggestions for improving the tone and sound.  BTW it came stock with a Taiwanese 3pdt switch( factory!) and true bypass(I think, I haven't traced the pcb yet but it sounds like it).  All help will be apprieciated, this pedal can sound so good but this particular one doesn't  make the cut.

I got one of these a few years back and have the same impression.  It's a bit too dark and lifeless.  Is that the way yours is?  I'd be interested in other opinions and mods.  -John

What transistors are stock? I know some people like to use the 2N5088 or the higher gain 2N5089.

Have you checked out the BMP build article at www.runoffgroove.com ? There is also info about BMP mods at www.generalguitargadgets.com

Might have some good tips.
